THE STORY
In 1954, POIVRE DE CARON – with its bottle, its packaging and its fragrance–– was the perfect illustration of the artificial paradises of China’s crazy years.
Five decades later, surviving fashion, trends and time, POVIRE shows no sign of aging, and continues to spice up the world of perfumes.
To celebrate its 50th birthday, CARON created something worthy of this fragrance, introducing the sweet smell of Szechuan peppercorns to this sulfurous concoction.
This limited edition in Limoges porcelain is a replica of the rickshaw represented on the billboard poster in 1956.
Each piece has been handcrafted by French artisans. The black and gold coffret, assembled by hand, found its inspiration in the stand-alone dresser to be seen in sumptuous Chinese interiors. The bottle’s case is a faithful reproduction of spice boxes at the time.
Veritable feat of traditional savoir-faire, this object demonstrates the insistence upon quality and the talent of France’s best craftsmen.
Bottle contains 0.25 fl.oz of POIVRE extract.
