La Boutique Saint-Honoré

Our Boutique Saint-Honoré
332, rue Saint-Honoré, Paris 75001

Caron opens a new chapter in its history today. A boutique conceived as a place that invites attention to one’s own inner state. Here, fragrance is not an end in itself,it becomes a medium, a point of access to energy and self awareness. This bears the vision of Olivia de Rothschild, Artistic Director of the House, and gives tangible form to her view of contemporary luxury, grounded in feeling, instinct, and intimacy. “In a world that has become too loud, I wanted to create a place that quiets this over stimulation; I wanted everyone to have the space simply to be.” Deliberately epurated, the boutique leaves room to feel, to absorb, and to recentre.

GIVING FORM TO A VISION

GIVING FORM TO A VISION

“Caron has always been an extremely modern House, almost radical in its approach to fragrance. Our task was to translate that modernity into a place,” explain Casper Mueller Kneer Architects, responsible for the design of the new boutique. Their practice of design and architecture conceives space as a world apart, freed from demonstrative logic.

Their approach grew out of an immersion in Caron’s history and spirit,a House that has consistently stepped away from fleeting trends and diktats to assert an avant-garde vision. A culture of the sidestep, an elegance without ostentation.

Repeated geometry, a studied use of light, metal and concrete, a central structuring work : these architectural principles support a space designed for sensation and for time. From the street, the storefront, structured by metal and light, offers a glimpse of an interior organised around volumes and repeated lines. A deliberately partial first reading.

Upon entering, the full range of fragrances is arranged on a series of dedicated architectural volumes. These vertical supports present the bottles at human height, establishing a direct, immediate relationship. “I wanted the product to be at the same level as the person” explains Olivia de Rothschild.

Inside, the experience unfolds through a logic of multiplication, creating depth and continuity. The space reveals itself gradually, over time. “For me, it was important to create a total immersion that allowsone to enter another world.”

BLUR AND AURA

BLUR AND AURA

The absence of clear mirrors fully supports this intention. Reflective metal surfaces cast a halo. Reflections remain diffuse, intentionally blurred. “What is perceived here is not an image of oneself, but what one emanates. Fragrance has nothing to do with physique or appearance. What matters is the felt energy.” This choice recentres attention on the aura,on what fragrance extends and reveals.

THE POINT OF PULSATION

THE POINT OF PULSATION

Emblematic of Caron boutiques, the fountain emerges as a structuring work. It is an integral part of the House’s history and its vision of fragrance. Long expressed through a plurality of fountains, each dedicated to individual creations, it is now magnified into a monumental structure, becoming a point of pulsation at the heart of the space. Entirely reimagined in a contemporary language, the fountain draws inspiration from historic Art Deco luminaires. Through its verticality and central presence, it initiates an upward movement. Integrated lighting reveals the structure: a minimalist, an almost mechanical vocabulary articulated through a deliberate contrast of metallic coolness and the warmth of glass. “The fountain is extremely important to me. It expresses the idea of transmission and temporal continuity. By allowing bottles to be refilled, it prolongs the relationship with fragrance.

Caron invites fragrance to be experienced as a expression of the soul. A return to the essential through a space designed to welcome energy and let a state emerge. A place to be, above all.

THE VIBES

THE VIBES

Caron offers an alternative way of approching fragrance, moving beyond traditional olfactory families. Vibes propose a reading grounded in states of being and in what fragrance initiates, stimulates, and sets into motion. They address the body, the mind, and instinct alike. "It allow each individual the space of personal perception. The space can thus receive an energy, enver before it is defined".
